FBI Warns Again Using Free Wifi While Traveling & Only AC Charging Ports

In the FBI weekly tech advice, they reminded everyone to avoid using public hotspots while traveling.  Better yet, use your cell phone data instead.  If you connect to bad wifi, the criminals can load malware, steal your passwords and even take remote control of your contacts and camera.
Other tips included:

– If you must use the public wifi, please be sure to confirm the exact name and login procedures and don’t go to any website that involves sensitive data such as your bank account
– Disable location services including those on social media and your camera
– Don’t allow your phone, tablet, etc to auto connect to free wireless networks while away from home.

-Finally, Travelers Should only use AC Charging ports or USB no data cables. Public USB charging stations could contain dangerous malware- see full article
